Welcome! Here be the 4004 in all it's glory!
This blog will cover one man’s journey to document the history and recreation of the legendary Intel 4004 the world’s first microprocessor, invented by Dr. Federico Faggin while working at Intel in 1971. The goal is to build an open source journey of the history, inner workings, and the impact of the 4004. The culmination of this project is the recreation of the 4001, 4002, 4003, and 4004 in modern open source silicon with the help Skywater, google, and the open source community at large!
Please join me on this blog and check out the development progress over on GitHub where i hope to foster a community of anyone from history nerds, computer scientists, engineers, and anyone else who wants to join!
Thank you and welcome aboard!
